SQL based web programming, Microsoft Access and Apple Script..
For the last 16 years I've worked as an in-house graphic designer for MSC—the national check and financial document printing company based in Birmingham, AL.
Working closely with products and marketing departments I've developed corporate logos and identities, checks and financial products, packaging, ads, websites, printed collateral and trade show booths for the national check and financial document printing brands:
Main Street Checks (currently MSI) and Legacy Member Services.
Before MSC my graphic design experience includes daily and weekly newspapers and several projects for a book publisher.
Over the years I've worked with several MSC's commercial and business forms printing vendors and national magazines preparing press ready files.
Collaborating with our long time business forms web press vendor NCP (Birmingham, AL) and later our own press room team I developed competitive line of check products for financial institutions confirming to ANSI Image Readiness Standards (verified with RDM Image Qualifier X97-OCR software).
I have extensive experience in imposition and color management using
Fujifilm Workflow XMF, PlateRite 4300E, EPSON Stylus Pro 7900.
Before my work at MSC I had a very valuable prepress experience at a small family owned printing company TBF in Pelham, AL. As a prepress production artist I had to create press ready files from the originals created in multiple PC office programs provided by our clients.
Equipment and software used at TBF:
ABDick DPM2000 platemaker with Itek RIP.
I've developed a highly automated workflow for formatting check variable image information (company logos, forms, custom check stubs, etc.) using Photoshop data sets and actions, Apple Script and Elixir DesignPro Tools for Xerox High-volume production printers.
